Attend a PTA Meeting!
No need to be a member - we welcome all to be involved and hear about what's happening at our awesome school! General PTA Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the Library. 2014-2015 Meeting Dates: September 9th, October 14th, No meeting in November, December 9th, January 13th, February 10th, March 10th, April 14th, May 12th, and June 9th. Jogathon- October 3, 2014 It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year! Join our team organizing the event beforehand, jogging with the kids or helping with parties for winning classrooms. Committee Co-Chairs: Amy McKinney/Hang Guthrie Whole Child Coordinator - "WCC" (1-2 per class) In partnership with your child's grade level teachers, the WCC will help plan, facilitate and organize the Whole Child experience for a particular grade level. Typically the Whole Child experience is a field trip or another type of hands-on activity that helps integrate what they are learning in class with a project or other creative endeavor. Classroom Reps: Many of these spots are filled but we're still looking for 5th grade WCC's! School Support Help coordinate volunteers for our events that happen during the school day. Vision and hearing checks, student class photos, staff appreciation, etc. Committee Chair: Cindee Jones Family Support If there is a family in our community that could use some help and encouragement (school supplies, clothing, meals, help at Christmas time, etc.) please contact Chris. Committee Chair: Chris Eltrich 5th Grade Clubs This is an exciting one for 5th graders. Coordinate parents to lead clubs once a week for 5th graders. Committee Chair: OPEN Box Tops Be part of this fun team that helps bring free $$$ to Parkview! This year expect a little healthy class competition! Committee Chair: Emily Deen School Directory Organizing all of our family contacts in one handy booklet so we can get in touch with one another! Help kids with fun games to win prizes or sell tickets to excited families at the door. Committee Chair: Kirstin Curtis Watch D.O.G.S – throughout school year Help engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at our school. Committee Chair: David Walker Healthy Snacks Would you like to be a part of a program that delivers healthy snacks to our students? If you can help organize and deliver snacks to classrooms, this may be the job for you! Committee Chairs: Janet Giesen & Caprice Teske Spirit Wear- twice per year Pandas love to show their pride. Help us work with screen printers to produce our awesome Panda Wear. Committee Chair: Holly Rasmussen Decade Dance - June Love the 80's? Dig the bell bottoms of the 70's? Can't get enough acid wash? Well this may be the event for you! Help us plan and coordinate our all-school Decade Dance! Committee Chair: OPEN Yearbook - All school year or Spring only. Distributed in June Do you love photography? Help us put together our annual Parkview PTA yearbook. Committee Chair: Tiffany Brooks - would love a co-chair! Science Fair- March This is a one night event that requires a lot of judges and help setting up and cleaning up. Whether or not you have a background in science, we need you!! Committee Chair: OPEN Workshops & Assemblies All those great 1/2 day workshops? They are awesome! Be a part of bringing fun, educational opportunities to Parkview! Committee Chair: Anna Booker Art Walk This is undoubtedly one of the best city-wide celebrations of the year!
